"First Juice" - Beverage Division
The bright graphics and organic designation draw the consumers to the product, but the no-spill sippy cap keeps them coming back. Consumer acceptance by parents has been amazing – First Juice gets e-mails every day from parents grateful for the easy way to take juice on the go for their toddlers and not have to worry about choking or spills.
The custom overcap was designed specifically for use on packaging used by toddlers. It provides a disposable, spill-resistant sippy cap at a reasonable price. Most sippy cap cups can allow too much product consumption all at once and allow product leakage. Others have tried to use the silicone valve technology but the cost of manufacturing and assembly was prohibitive. The innovative assembly of the closures installs the liner, valve and overcap in a fully automated process.
"Double Down" - Industrial/Commercial Division
Structure/graphics contribute to the image and shelf-impact because the billboard area for the shrink label more than doubled for the new package, allowing Hillyard to design an attractive eye catching label that is applied over the entire package.
The redesign improved the acceptability of package since the “ready to use” design is widely accepted by Hillyard’s customers. Eliminating assembly as needed in the previous packaging design greatly increases the safety of the end user because it is no longer necessary to open the bottles, dispose of closures with product on them and insert a sprayer – the new package greatly reduces the chance of skin contact with the contents.
The dual interlocking bottles and snap closure design allows for a mixing of the two products in mid air prior to the product reaching the carpet or garment to be cleaned.
The one piece cap design was an improvement from other 2, 3, & 4 piece designs in the market. The bottle design allows for minimal pressure to be applied and evacuate product evenly from the two bottles. The blend of high and low density polyethylene produces bottles with just the right “squeeze” factor.
