For Immediate Release
TricorBraun has doubled the size of its Chicago Design and Engineering studio and is adding professional staff to meet increasing demand for its services, which are provided without charge to business that elect to purchase from the company.
TricorBraun is one of North America’s largest providers of jars, bottles and other rigid packaging components. The firm’s Design and Engineering department recently won two awards in the World Beverage Competition.
“The expansion will accelerate the speed with which our customers can bring their products to market. This facility has been planned to combine design skill with speed. The goal is to accelerate our comprehensive, best-in-show design process,” according to Craig Sawicki, TricorBraun’s chief creative officer.
Market research is now conducted in a new focus group facility located in the studio.
New staff members with specific skills have been matched with state-of-the-art design and packaging software along with specialized equipment.
A contemporary video conferencing system increases customers and manufacturers ability to become involved in the design and engineering process.
Enhanced modeling capabilities have been added, as well as other cutting edge hardware.
“In many instances, a customer only has a rough idea of what a package should cost. We can take them from concept development, drawings and models, to manufacturing and filling,” Mr. Sawicki said.
“In other cases companies approach us with carefully researched plans for a new package. In that case, we may offer engineering support to assure the package can be cost-efficiently manufactured. We also provide quality assurance testing for the manufactured containers and confirm they can be filled on high-speed lines.
Frequently, companies come to us to evaluate existing packaging. We are able to suggest new materials and furnish manufacturing guidance that allows a container to perform more effectively on a high-speed filling line. In other cases, we are able to lessen a package’s weight and reduce shipping charges.
TricorBraun (www.tricorbraun.com) has more than 40 locations in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe and Asia. The company’s primary focus is on packaging for: personal care; nutritional supplements; cosmetics; healthcare; food and beverages; as well as industrial and household chemicals.
