Weener Plastics Packaging Group, headquarters based in Germany with 24 production sites worldwide, focusing on packaging for personal care, food and household products, has entered into a supply agreement with TricorBraun, the United States’ largest package development and distribution company of rigid packaging. Weener USA will service TricorBraun through their new manufacturing facility in Wilson, N.C.
The supply agreement provides Weener access to the North American market through TricorBraun’s 30+ locations, as well as the opportunity to have TricorBraun Design & Engineering incorporate their competencies on custom projects.
Weener’s core competencies include the development and production of dispensing closures, co-injection molding and PET bottles, as well as tubes. Uniquely clear tubes can be manufactured in clarified polypropylene. Tubes manufactured in clarified polypropylene are transparent and would complement a product line using PET bottles. One other technology that TricorBraun and Weener wish to focus on is the patented dispensing valve technology in silicone or TPE.
