DryKeep™ provides three times the moisture absorbing capacity of other in-wall and traditional desiccant systems.
ST. LOUIS…TricorBraun recently completed regulatory approval and is commercially ready with its DryKeep™ desiccant polymer compound. DryKeep™, which employs a naturally occurring edible desiccant material, is available exclusively through TricorBraun. Drug Master Files on the compound and component materials have been granted by the FDA, and multi-layer bottles molded with DryKeep™ have been granted USP 661 and 671 certification.
DryKeep™ can be molded into plastic containers or films for anything that needs protection from moisture. It can be sandwiched between layers of other polymers and does not need to contact the environment in order to maintain the humidity required. DryKeep™ absorbs 100 percent of its weight in water, providing three times more moisture capacity per gram than with other in-wall and traditional desiccant systems. Its moisture uptake is controllable, allowing for the targeting of specific internal humidity levels, and will remain active for the entire life of the food, drug or chemical being packaged. This absorptive control means containers don’t require any special care in the filling process to maintain their active capacity. And since this desiccant is molded into the container, it cannot be discarded like standard desiccants. Products will be protected during transport to the consumer and over the life of the consumer’s use of the product.
TricorBraun is one of the world’s leading suppliers of packaging, and it has 33 offices in the United States, Canada and Asia.
