Salon Selectives, a former Helene Curtis, Inc. brand that enabled women to individualize their hair-care routines, was a popularly priced product of choice in the 1980s and 1990s. However, with sales sagging, it was withdrawn from the market in 2004.
TricorBraun helped reintroduce the brand in March 2008 with modernized packaging containing updated formulas and new products.
TricorBraun provided an 8-ounce, high-density polyethylene Elegante bottle with an extender pump for a root-lifting spray.
The hair freshener is mounted on a blister card and is sold in a 1.7-ounce PET G bottle with a spray pump. Also in 1.7-ounce PET G bottles are the split-end mender and smoothing serum that have a treatment pump.
Weightless foam is packaged in an 8-ounce colored PET bottle with a foamer pump.
The molding wax is contained in a 2-ounce SAN jar with a polypropylene lid.
In addition to the bottles, TricorBraun provided the labels, coordinated the package labeling and supervised the color matching.
The bottles were ordered in November, sent to the fillers in January and delivered in time for the March launch.
Terri Sheppard, CPP, and Janice Michalak, account coordinator, represented TricorBraun in managing the packaging and design decisions.
TricorBraun is one of the world’s leading suppliers of packaging, and it has 32 offices in the United States, Canada and Asia.
