ST. LOUIS, Missouri – On Friday, November 11, during the annual sales meeting, TricorBraun joined forces with GAP Ministries to help out with their Work Together to Give Back philanthropic event for local communities. GAP is a social service nonprofit organization serving Southern Arizona. Since 1999, GAP has been “standing in the GAP” for those in need in three core areas: Family, Community and Ministry. GAP’s Community warehouse shares fresh food and basic needs items with over 70 Southern Arizona nonprofits serving the disadvantaged. Over one million pounds of healthy vegetables, fruit, and other perishable items are distributed annually throughout the community by GAP’s partnering nonprofits, churches, businesses, schools and by hundreds of volunteers. GAP’s outreaches serve food year-round, provide backpacks during back-to-school season, and toys at Christmas to low-income children and their families.

During the Give Back event, 96 volunteers from TricorBraun joined chef John Hohn and his team to help prepare snacks for local schools. John is a former chef at the Loews Ventana Resort and current Executive Chef of “The Kitchen” within GAP Ministries. In just one hour, our volunteers made 1,213 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, portioned 242 bags of grapes, 1,682 2-oz containers of raisins, 1,654 2-oz containers of peanut butter, 657 snack bags of tortilla chips, 1,848 snack bags of Ritz crackers and 628 4-oz containers of bean dip. TricorBraun’s team and their guests also donated over 140 toys for The GAP Ministries SPLASH program, which houses and cares for abused and neglected children in foster home settings. In addition, TricorBraun donated one printer, one large, flat-screen TV, and presented a check for $5,000 to GAP Ministries Founder and President Greg Ayers and his wife, Co-founder and Executive Director, Pam Ayers.

During every Sales Meeting for many, TricorBraun has made a point of giving back in one way or another to the neighboring communities. We are extremely proud of this ongoing tradition and proud of the way our team members step up each year to contribute their time and effort.
