SAFER CLEANING PRODUCTS FROM VISION TO SHELVES IN 90 DAYS

Simplicity is committed to creating environmentally friendly cleaning products. Simplicity’s dedication complements the population’s increasing concern for sustaining the earth, making now the perfect time for launching the company’s products.

Design Innovation

Simplicity teamed up with TricorBraun to create unique and recognizable packaging. Each of the 20-ounce and larger bottles was custom designed, with only the cap as a stock item. It took a team of highly skilled individuals to turn Simplicity’s vision into a reality.

“The end result pushed the manufacturers to the brink of what was possible to get the bottle just right,” said Andrew Bottene, Vice President of Business Development West at TricorBraun.

Speed to Market

It was a mere 90 days from initiation of the project at TricorBraun to gaining prime retail shelf position. Even with this remarkably fast product launch, TricorBraun took the extra step to test the bottle’s integrity at their Buffalo, New York, Design and Engineering facility.

Logistics

Perfecting the logistics for this project was one of TricorBraun’s main priorities. By using just-in-time capabilites of TricorBraun’s the Strategic Inventory Management System, all of the new products were delivered on a Friday, filled over the weekend, and 18 truckloads were shipped to the retailer on a Monday. TricorBraun is prepared for significant reorders based on the success of this product launch and will stock the components for Simplicity, keeping close track of inventory levels.

Sustainability

TricorBraun is proud to provide packaging that implements Simplicity’s initiative to “take a step inward and a big step forward-toward a healthier and more people-friendly indoor environment.” This level of sustainability is achieved by a well-coordinated logistics system that uses less transportation resources, a lower gram weight container to reduce plastic, and the inclusion of recycled materials.

“Future expansion plans for Simplicity include Japan, Mexico, Europe, Russia, Brazil and China, with Simplicity's goal of reducing consumers' exposure to chemicals in daily life globally,” said Jeff Wycoff, President of Simplicity. “TricorBraun, with its global reach, will be part of this process.”
