A Clean Start for a Fresh New Product

Founded in 1923, Ecolab® is the world’s leading provider of cleaning, food safety and health protection products and services for the hospitality, foodservice, healthcare and industrial markets. When they launched ProForce® cleaners, they turned to TricorBraun.

Project Complexity

Ecolab’s Director of Global Supplier Quality, Tina Outlaw, hadn’t worked on a project from concept to launch in quite awhile. Perhaps that’s why she still smiles when she talks about bringing ProForce to the market.

“We did in six months what normally takes two-and-a-half years,” said Outlaw.

TricorBraun acted as the business lead for the project, working with Ecolab as well as several other vendors to keep the project moving along at its breakneck speed.

“We took risks, but they were always calculated,” said Outlaw. “We replaced the prototype tool phase with upfront computer diagnostics. We were determined not to fail.”

In the end, the team didn’t fail. The project was a resounding success, which Outlaw attributes to the team’s constant communication and the respect they had for one another.

“I have been very impressed with TricorBraun’s customer service at every level. They really know their business, and they took the time to get to know ours.”

Design Innovation

The idea was to supply commercial users with a dispensing bottle nested in a larger bottle that would allow them to quickly and easily refill the dispenser. The resulting packaging was a collaboration of several companies and proved to be a winning combination.

When the ProForce project began, no one was thinking about awards. They simply didn’t have the time. They were merely trying to introduce a new product for small cleaning businesses. However, one year after the product hit the shelves, it hit the awards shows and came up big.

The product won the praise of retailers and users alike and the package won an AmeriStar Award for innovative packaging as well as the Best of Show in the National Association of Container Distributors Packaging Awards Competition.
