The 16 oz (500 ml) modern round bottle style is known for its round base, label indent panel and distinctive sloped shoulder. The light amber color provides some ultraviolet (UV) protection for light sensitive products. The polyethylene terephthalate (PET) resin offers a good oxygen barrier, moisture barrier and solvent (fragrance) barrier. Traditionally this bottle style was used for packaging pharmaceuticals, chemicals and automotive products, but the excellent clarity and surface gloss of PET resin definitely expands the possibilities. Please Note: Plastic amber bottles and jars are colored using pigments and come in a variety of shades from light amber to dark amber, which can be almost black. These variations of amber color provide levels of UV protection for light-sensitive products.
